We never knew much about the OJ Simpson trial before two years ago. We read Kris Jenner's book (all things Kardashian), three chapters were dedicated to it. It told us about the intensity of the situation and made us learn more. We then went on to binge watch the real trial and any documentary regarding it. We were ecstatic to learn that FX was showing a mini series called 'The People vs OJ Simpson. It depicted a time in modern history when the American nation were divided. Was he a hero or was he a monster? If you haven't been listening or alive for the last twenty-odd years we will explain the background. In June 1994 Nicole Brown Simpson (OJ's estranged wife) and Ron Goldman (a waiter returning Nicole mothers glasses after she dined in the restaurant he was working it) got brutally murdered by an unknown killer. OJ was arrested for the murder after a ridiculous amount of DNA evidence linked him to the crimes.
Fast forward twenty years and it's a hit mini series! The immense casting such as Cuba Gooding Jnr who plays the deeply troubled and egotistical Simpson and Travolta as the fame hungry Shapiro are superb. Sarah Paulson is award winning worthy playing the formidable Marcia Clark and Sterling K Brown plays her fellow prosecutor Christopher Darden beautifully.
The series also touches on the sensitive issues of that time e.g. the everyday sexism Marcia Clark received by her peers and the race issues that the whole trial was plagued with are dealt with subtlety but still manages to have a shocking effect on you as a viewer.

Also there a few iconic scenes with The Kardashians (I KNOW) and their late father (best friend of OJ) who was played by none other than Ross out of friends. Selma Blair also does a convincing yet brief turn as momager Kris Jenner who was none other than Nicole Brown Simpsons best friend, keeping up yet?
Despite your views on whether he did it or not (he totally did but that's none of our business *sips tea*) this is not to be missed.
Monday 9pm on BBC 2.
