Pop Kulture's 5 Favourite Stories Of The Week

It's been a strange old week in celeb land.

Kourtney Kardashian Attended Jimmy Carr's House Party

Yes, we had to read it a few times to make sense of it but it's true. The comedian hosted a star studded bash in his London home attended by the strangest line up of celebs we can think of. Aside from Kourtney, guests included Elton & David, Robbie Williams' wife Ayda, Vernon and Tess, Princess Beatrice, Hugh Grant and Konnie Huq & husband, Charlie Brooker. To say we're offended our invite got lost in the post is an understatement.

Matt Cardle Is Kind Of But Not Really Suing Ed Sheeran

In possibly the most boring lawsuit in all of pop, the writers of Matt Cardle's track Amazing are suing Ed Sheeran as they claim Sheeran's hit Photograph sounds remarkably similar. Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard claim the songs share "similarity of words, vocal style, vocal rhythm and melody" and are suing Ed for a whopping $20 million. X Factor winner, Matt took to Twitter to distance himself from the whole debacle tweeting "This is not my lawsuit. I think @edsheeran is a genius & 100% deserves all his success"

Kylie Is Singing The Theme Song For The Ab Fab Film
Rex Features
The long awaited film has a cast list longer than the Yellow Pages and it just got that little bit more fabulous as it was revealed Kylie Minogue has recorded the film's theme, This Wheel's on Fire. The Bob Dylan song was recorded by Ade Edmondson for the original sitcom but, in true Ab Fab style, has been given a facelift for the release of the movie, due for UK release on 1 July. Paloma Faith and La Roux have also recorded songs for the soundtrack as well as Jane Horrocks, who plays Bubble, who has apparently recorded a version of Big Spender.

French & Saunders Made Us All Want To Hug Our BFFs
Dawn French/Twitter
Pop Kulture hero, Jennifer Saunders was honoured at this year's Glamour Women Of The Year Awards with the Outstanding Contribution award which was presented to her by comedy partner and chum, again another PK idol, Dawn French. Jennifer insisted Dawn stand beside her as she made her speech and thanked the Vicar of Dibley star for allowing her to "ride on her coattails" for all these years. Jennifer lauded more praise on Dawn before joking she was made to say nice things about her pal or she would "kick her up the c**t". The Ab Fab writer and star wrapped things up by saying she hopes if she's made an outstanding contribution to anything it's female friendship. Watch her full speech here.

The Harry Potter Play Had Real Owls And Now It Doesn't
Peter Gibbons
The long-awaited play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child started previews this week at the Palace Theatre in London's glittering West End. JK Rowling and the team have been insistent that they don't want spoilers finding their way online and have been sharing the hashtag #KeepTheSecrets across social media in a bid to keep the story under wraps. It was, however, revealed by a few (including Daily Mail showbiz reporter Baz Bamigboye) that the production featured real live owls and one had misbehaved and flew into the auditorium. Producers released a statement saying "the decision was made to not feature live owls in any aspect of the production moving forward." PETA, of course, welcomed the news with open arms. Yet people are still in a tizz over Hermione being played by a black actress *nail painting emoji*
